The Miami Township Community Development Department is seeking an organized, self-motivated, and creative individual to join our growing community. The position is a full-time, non-exempt, at will appointment, which will serve under the direction of the Director of Community Development.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Planning or similar discipline or have the equivalent of four (4) years of combined education or full-time experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
The position will focus on property inspections and violations, customer service support, issuance of zoning certificates, board of zoning appeals and zoning commission support, and management of files and data. This position requires an ability to professionally communicate effectively with the public in verbal and written form on a regular basis.
The salary range for the position starts at $18.22 per hour and extends to $21.85 per hour and includes a generous benefits package including sick leave, vacation leave, personal leave, and paid holidays. Ability to become AICP certified upon meeting requirements is a plus. Must possess a valid driver’s license. 40 hours per week, generally 8 AM to 4:30 PM (some night and weekend hours required on a monthly basis, minimum one weekend per month).
