Concord Twp, Lake County is seeking an Assistant Zoning Inspector /Planning Technician
Concord Township, Lake County is a growing Northeast Ohio community of approximately 18,646 residents, and is located 5 miles south of Lake Erie and 30 miles east of Cleveland. The Township is looking to hire an Assistant Zoning Inspector/ Planning Technician to assist in the daily operations of the Zoning Department. The Assistant Zoning Inspector/ Planning Technician, under the direction of the Zoning Inspector, will perform a variety of tasks relating to Township zoning activities. Primary responsibilities include reviewing zoning permit applications, performing on-site inspections, and working with the public to resolve zoning violations and complaints. Applicants should have strong customer service skills, highly organized, and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals. The applicant must have knowledge of basic principles, practices, and procedures related to planning, development, zoning, and site planning. Minimum required qualifications include a two-year college or technical school degree, Bachelor’s degree in Zoning and Land Use Law, Urban Planning, Public Administration or Real Estate preferred; and one to two years of related work experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. Salary starting at $38,000.

This is a full-time position that provides an immediate impact on the Delaware community by maintaining and enforcing zoning and property maintenance codes with our residents and businesses.
Minimum qualifications include: high school diploma or GED; three to five years of high-quality experience in municipal code enforcement; team leadership or supervisory experience preferred., AACE or ICC Zoning and Housing Enforcement Certification preferred but must be obtained within six months of hire date, must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Driver License.
