Code Enforcement Supervisor

​The City of Mentor is seeking a full-time, Code Enforcement Supervisor.

 

The Code Enforcement Supervisor provides supervision and coordination of the property maintenance and rental housing inspection programs. Work involves significant contact with the public and requires excellent customer service and communication skills in receiving, recording, and resolving complaints to ensure that properties are kept to the standards set forth in the Mentor Code of Ordinances. Applicants must possess a four-year college degree with major course work in public or business administration, management, criminal justice, or a related field;
or an equivalent combination of training and experience to successfully perform the duties of this position. Minimum three years of administrative, managerial, or supervisory experience in zoning, inspection, planning, law enforcement, or construction is preferred to provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities relative to code enforcement. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required. ICC/AACE Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector Certification required within 12 months of hire. Annual salary range: $51,223.38-$94,473.60, depending on qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefit package.
